The People of God's Love Community was formed by a small group of men and women who were actively involved with Charismatic Prayer Meetings in Central Ohio. During 1977, at the Charismatic Conference held in Kansas City, a message was spoken telling the attendees to bind themselves together in Christian Community. In response to that word, the People of God's Love Covenant Community was founded in August of 1977 at Columbus, OH.
Our Mission StatementA people, living and building a Spirit-filled, Christian way of life through loving and committed relationships.
Community ProfileThe People of God's Love Covenant Community consists of singles and married couples, children and seniors. We include people from all walks of life. We have doctors and plumbers, homebuilders as well as small business owners. We share our love for God the Father, his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Binding us together is the Baptism in the Holy Spirit prophesied by John the Baptist and initially received on the first Pentecost, as recorded in Acts 2. Members live in the Columbus, OH area. The People of God's Love Covenant Community is a member of the world wide Sword of the Spirit community of communities. Living in Community, we seek to live out our lives interdependently, and not independently. We come together twice monthly for our Community Praise and Worship Gatherings. Small groups of men and women meet during the week at various homes to pray together, share their life in the Lord, grow together in Christ, and enjoy one another's company. Periodically, we hold Men's evenings and Women's evenings for teaching, worship and praise. Other types of get togethers include Community Forums and Foundation In Christian Living Teaching sessions. We believe it is important to pass on our way of life together in Christ to our children. To do this, we involve them in many facets of community life, to include teaching appropriate for their age and state in life, retreats, summer camp and community praise gatherings. It is wonderful to see the youth actively participating in the praise and worship times. The Community sponsors a chapter of St. Paul's Outreach to serve college students in Central Ohio. In January 2004, 2005 and again in 2006, SPO sponsored "Fan into Flame" retreats where college age students were introduced to the new Life in the Spirit.
